It’s here!

No, not the Spring, yet. My Vogue Knitting 2007/2008 Winter issue!

It’s marvellous! I love it! I’ve never had one VK in my hands before. But for what I’ve seen in their website, I like it. So I made the decision of spending one gazillion Euro to subscribe it, only because VK doesn’t accept Euro, only dollars or Pounds.

But now its mine!! All mine!! Sometime about now I shall receive the Spring issue. Oh!!! The excitement! I can’t wait!

Now my apologies. I know I’ve been away from blogging a long time now, but I still have read all that you wrote, either comments or on your own blogs. Work has been a real hell and should stay a hell for a least another month. I get home so tired that all I want is to fall asleep on my bed.

About my knitting… My sweater (as you can see here, here, here, here and here) has stopped for the sleeves. I don’t have thick DPN, only thin. And the pattern says it should be made in DPNs. My idea is to make the sleeves flat, and sew them later. It’s not going to be that nice, but its the best idea I had…

Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to do a huge crocheted frog and have stopped in the middle of the head to start a pirate (from Dream Toys by Claire Garland). One of my friends has asked me to do one for a nephew. I’ve also finished a Princess (from the same book) to a friend’s girlfriend.

Now, back to work 😥

Sewing machine

And as I promise to some of you, a few more shots of my grandma sewing machine:

There’s my pal Red Maple. He’s so cute!

From the codes tables from Singer, this sewing machine is from the 1910s.  So, it’s almost turning a century!

Oh! About the yarn I received from my Hot Cocoa Spoiler, and as you can see a few posts back.

This lovely yarn is Koigu Wool KPPPM, made in Canada. Its 100% Merino Wool, Hand-painted!!!!!!

It’s so soft and have just the right colors (for me anyway). I’m in love and I can’t wait to knit it!

A little sewing…

Just for fun!
As I told before, I’ve bought 16 pairs of bamboo needles, sooo I needed a needle bag to store them all! This Monday I stayed home with my grandmother and we both did a small needle bag. I have a shot of my grandma hands in the sewing machine, and I’m not posting anything else because the other stuff is for my Hot Cocoa Swap partner! I’ll post them when she receives her package 😉

And now my sweater report! I’ve been knitting a little everyday… And here it is:

It’s not done or nearly done, but it is so soft so wonderful… I’m really looking forward to have it all completed.

T o o t i r e d . . .

Tonight I’m so tired. I just want to go to bed. But I couldn’t go without saying that I’m alive! My day at work was terrible. Everybody yelling at everybody. Some people who I don’t like and are trying to make my life a living hell have made some serious mistakes, and now my friends are against them (MWAH AH AH). And they still try to look even worse make it my fault, and call me incompetent for something that isn’t even my work, but theirs! At least everybody in the company knows them and are on my side!

So, my day wasn’t easy. I’m almost sleeping as I type… But even this tired, I manage to put the Hot Cocoa Questionnaire in a single page, to make it easier to my Secret Pal to access it.

I’ve been looking at Lesley’s contest. Its going to be hard… She challenge us to make creatures of marshmallows and toothpicks. How the hell am I going to get marshmallows?? I’ve never seen them in Portugal. I went to the biggest supermarket tonight, and they don’t have them. The solution: make some myself! I have this recipe but I don’t know what light corn syrup is… Once again, I have never seen it in Portugal… I really want to enter in the contest 😥

And off I gooooooo!.. to bed! See you all tomorrow* Hope I’ll have a better day…

Grandmas time

Today I went to the market with my mother. I was looking for new fabrics, but instead I’ve bought this for my dolls:

Its still marked with the previous Portuguese money, escudos. I remember my grandma having this at home. I’ve travelled to the days when I was a child…
